PBC: 634 Billion Yuan in New Loans Issued in June
The People's Bank of China (PBC) published financial figures for the first half of 2011 on their official website earlier this morning. The report said that financial institutions issued 633.9 billion yuan of new yuan-denominated loans in June. The central bank also reported a jump in its foreign-exchange reserves with holdings of foreign currency rising to almost 3.2 trillion US dollars, a 30% increase on the amount held at the end of the Jun 2010. The national bureau of statistics is scheduled to report full economic data for the second quarter tomorrow.
