The Price of Instant Noodles is Going Up Again
An employee of Uni-President (统一), one of China's major instant noodle manufacturers, confirmed that the company plans to lift the price of some of their instant noodle products in some regions of China this month. Uni-President will lift the price of a single instant noodle bowl by 0.3 yuan. Domestic Chinese media has also been reporting that the dominant player in China's instant noodle market, Master Kong (康师傅), will raise its prices by 10% this month, but the company has yet to make a formal announcement and major supermarket chains say they have not been informed of any decision to lift retail prices.
