State Council Approves Nuclear Safety Plan

The State Council recently approved a policy document in relation to China's nuclear safety according to a report in Tuesday's China Environment News.

According to the report, China's State Council gave approval to the "12th 5-year Plan for Nuclear Safety and Radioactive Pollution Prevention and Vision for 2020" 《核安全与放射性污染防治“十二五”规划及2020年远景目标》.

The paper, which operates under the authority of the Ministry for Environmental Protection, also printed the text of the document in yesterday's issue.

The report says that The State Council gave in principle approval to the plan, which was put together by the Ministry of Environmental Protection in conjunction with other central government ministries.
