China Appoints New Provincial Party Chiefs

The Central Committee of the Communist Party of China yesterday announced a reshuffle of five provincial-level party leaders. New communsit party heads, whose power exceeds that of the provincial governors, have been installed in the provinces of Henan, Fujian, Liaoning and Jilin as well as the autonomous region of Inner Mongolia.
