Former Ministry of Public Security Official on Trial in Relation to Huang Guangyu Case

Xiang Huaizhu, former deputy director the central Ministry of Public Security's Economic Crime Investigation Bureau, faced charges of accepting bribes worth 1.06 million yuan at Beijing's No. 2 Intermediate People's Court yesterday. The prosecution alleges that Xiang accepted the funds as a bribe from electronics retail giant Gome, the company's founder and former chairman Huang Guangyu currently awaits trial on corruption charges.
