Central Government Departments' Expense Account Funds to be Cut by 5%

Premier Wen Jiabao has set a target of reducing the expense account funds of central government departments by 5% this year at the Working Conference Against Corruption held yesterday. He said all expenses, including trips abroad, the purchase and maintenance of vehicles and funds spent on official receptions should be reduced. He also mentioned that the central government would intensify supervision of government-invested projects and public funds, improve financing of the budget system and promote the publicizing of the official budget.
