Guo Jingyi, a former high-level official in the Treaty and Law Department of China's Ministry of Commerce, was sentenced to death with a two-year reprieve after a Beijing court ruled that he had accepted bribes worth 8.45 million yuan from Gome, China's largest home appliance retailer and another Beijing-based company. The court also ordered the confiscation of all of Guo's property.
