Renminbi Settlement Program Expanded to 20 Provinces

The Chinese government has decided to expand the area covered by it's pilot program for allowing cross border trade to be settled in RMB. Originally the program applied to Shanghai and four other cities in Guangdong Province but it has now been extended so that it applies to a total of 20 provinces and municipalities directly under the control of the central government. Companies, no matter where they are based, can now choose to settle their cross-border trade deals in RMB in Beijing, Tianjin, Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Fujian and other provinces.
